OUR MISSION: Making Safety Seamless to Get You Moving

Before starting Thousand, I, the founder Gloria Hwang, never wore a helmet, even though I was a longtime cyclist. However, when I lost a friend to a fatal bike crash, I knew I had to change. Instead of settling for the "sci-fi" looking helmets on the market, I got to work designing one.

We named our company "Thousand" as a goal to help save 1000 lives by making helmets people actually want to wear. Our name is a daily reminder of why we do what we do.

CARBON NEUTRAL COMMITMENT: We've partnered with Climate Neutral to commit to going completely carbon neutral. With their help, we're measuring, reducing, and completely offsetting our carbon footprint so that we can take a stand in the fight against climate change.

MINDFUL SUPPLY CHAIN: Helmets are an age-old industry with limited planet-friendly options—and we want to change that. We use sustainable alternatives (whenever possible), track the origin of our materials, and use manufacturers with integrity.

PACKAGING: We've reduced our cardboard usage by more than 50% by designing dual purpose packaging that doubles as a store display for retailers AND a shippable box for online orders. The only thing more sustainable would be airdropping your helmet directly onto your head.

HOW TO FIT YOUR BIKE HELMET

FIT NOTES: Every head is different, but with our helmets' integrated dial fit system, it's easy to make small adjustments for a comfortable fit. Just turn the dial clockwise to tighten or counterclockwise to loosen. You can also remove some or all of the interior fit pads without affecting the safety of your lid to accomplish your preferred fit. Lightweight helmet at 410g (s), 450g (m) or 490g (l). Built to meet en1078 standards. Includes 2 sets of interior padding for a custom fit. If between sizes, we recommend the smaller size. Secret pop lock lets you lock your helmet with your bicycle.
